Flash Vessel - FT Series
FT Series - PRODUCT DATA BULLETIN
FT Series - INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALSeries 'FT' Flash Tanks
COLTON flash tanks offer a unique inlet baffle arrangement designed to enhance flash separation and extend tank life.
All steam systems produce flash steam which is usually wasted when it escapes through the condensate receiver vent pipe. The COLTON flash tank allows you to use this waste energy by capturing the flash steam and using it elsewhere in your system.
Flash steam is exactly the same as live steam and is every bit as useful. Flash steam should be regarded as a free source of low pressure steam in any system that operates with more than one steam pressure.
Ordering Information Required:- Pressure at high pressure steam trap/s or blow down metering valve/s feeding the flash tank.
- Volume of high pressure condensate (usually expressed in lbs/hr.)
- Pressure of the lower pressure system that we will be supplementing.
- Steam trap and strainer
- Pressure gage, syphon and pet cock
- Safety valve
- Drip pan elbow
- Back pressure regulator
- Pressure reducing valve

Condensate Cooler - CC Series
CC Series - PRODUCT DATA BULLETIN
CC Series - INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALSeries 'CC' Condensate Coolers
COLTON condensate coolers offer a unique inlet baffle arrangement designed to enhance flash separation and extend tank life and are usually supplied with a self powered, modulating cooling control, thermometer, internal dispersal manifold and an internal retention weir to save on cooling water. Condensate coolers should be utilized on any application where condensate is being discharged to drain or waste. Most local codes restrict waste water to a 140 deg. F. high limit.
Ordering Information Required:
Pressure of condensate at source steam trap/s or blow down valve/s.
Volume of condensate (usually expressed in lbs/hr.) to be cooled.
Temperature and pressure of cooling water.
High limit of waste condensate (if other than 140 deg. F.) -
Blowdown Tank - BDT Series
BDT Series - PRODUCT DATA BULLETIN
BDT Series - INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALSeries 'BDT' Blowdown Tanks
COLTON Industries offers blowdown tanks in varying sizes to retain and then discharge intermittent boiler blowdown to drain. The COLTON blowdown tank features an internal weir arrangement to retain the boiler blowdown and allow it to cool before being purged by the next blowdown cycle.
Ordering Information Required:
Operating pressure and the horse power of the boiler that will be feeding the selected tank.
If more than one boiler will be discharging into the selected tank, advise the horsepower of each boiler as well as its operating pressure, the frequency and sequence of blowdown.
Sample Options:- Thermostatic Cooling Control
- Thermometer
- Vent Condenser
